In Spring 2018, Doris facilitated an offsite retreat for our newly elected Vestry class.  The primary aim of the retreat was to invite the church leadership to reflect upon their spiritual experiences and gifts as well as to discern ways in which God may be speaking to the leadership and the congregation as a whole. Doris effectively used a host of creative approaches to engage the Vestry and to encourage thinking which went beyond the bounds of the “business as usual” focus.  And, critically, she gave Vestry members permission to express their hopes and dreams for the congregation and our community.  Her leadership at the retreat helped set a new and energized tone for the coming year and beyond.
